We will joining members of the Divine 9 and others for an Election Day rally to get out the vote at the Dunbar Center located at 1453 S. State Street, Syracuse, NY 13205 at 8:00 a. m. After the rally head on over to our NAACP offices to make calls to registered voters encouraging them to get out and vote. Remember to wear your NAACP shirts! We’ll see you there!

Wear Brown on May 17th to Celebrate the 69th Anniversary of the Brown vs. Board of Education Supreme Court Decision
May 17 marks the 69th anniversary of the landmark Brown vs. Board of Education U.S. Supreme Court decision de-segregating public schools. In this milestone decision, the Supreme Court ruled that separating children in public schools on the basis of race was unconstitutional. It signaled the end of legalized racial segregation in the schools of the United States, overruling the “separate but equal” principle set forth in the 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson case.
