Meals on Wheels of Syracuse (MOWS), is seeking a dynamic, experienced Executive Director (ED) to lead the organization through a period of growth and opportunity. For 65 years, MOWS has been dedicated to delivering nutritious meals and social interaction to homebound individuals across Onondaga County. The new ED will guide the organization into the future, ensuring efficient operations, sustainable growth, and effective service to the community.Key Responsibilities:• Work with the Board to provide strategic direction and ensure the efficient delivery of services.• Oversee daily operations, including meal production, program management, and human resources.• Manage financial operations, including budgeting, fundraising, and fiscal health.• Represent MOWS in the community, building relationships with…

“Our Community Preparedness Event Was A Success! Thank you for attending!
It was a packed house at the Toomey Abbot Community Room. Residents and community members participated in the second community preparedness event hosted by the Syracuse Onondaga NAACP and presented by the Governor’s Office of NYS Citizen’s Preparedness. Severe weather events are becoming more frequent and more extreme. It’s more important than ever that New Yorkers are prepared for disasters. The NY Citizen Preparedness Training Program teaches residents to have the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, respond accordingly and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions.
