Syracuse NAACP Board Chair Authors Brief to End Solitary Confinement for Youth

Lanessa Nes Owens, Chair of the Legal Committee for the Syracuse NAACP authored a supporting brief (Amicus Curie) to end solitary confinement for youth at the Justice Center in Syracuse .”This is a big Win for our youth and it could not have happened without all hands on deck’ ” Ms. Owens said.  She continued, ” I want to thank the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) and Legal Services of Central New York for spear heading this preliminary injunction and The William Herbert Johnson Bar Association, The Alliance Network,  the National Action Network (NAN), The Minority Western District Bar Association, the Center for Community Alternatives and PEACE Inc. for signing on.
